Government House hosted a reception for all those involved in the Manx Grand Prix, together with Mannin Cancers, for the launch of the fundraising initiative ‘Mannin Bikes – a Wheelie Good Cause 25’.
The charity, which, together with the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group, has raised over £9 million during the past 13 years to support healthcare on the island.
Over the next few months, Mannin Cancers are inviting businesses and race teams to support them through sponsorship packages, to design and customise their own model bike to keep.
Model Bikes
The charity will create an identical version of each bike, to be auctioned off during a special event at TT 2025.
Examples of the model bikes were on display, and there was an opportunity for interested parties to chat to members of the Mannin Cancers about ways in which they can support the initiative.
Funds will stay on Island and will go towards the new MacMillan Cancer Centre, which is in the process of being built on the site of Noble’s Hospital.
