Local business Actiphons has donated over 70 reading books to Laxey School to complement its brand new Reading Shed, which is in honour of David Cowley.
Laxey School says that these books, part of the Actiphons program, will be a huge boost for developing phonics skills in its Reception and Key Stage One students.
Actiphons has created the books alongside Penguin Book Publishers to help children practice their phonics while reading fun, short, sporty stories.
The business has a youtube channel which has lots of videos which help children with the letter/sound pronunciation, songs which the children can sing along too, dances to do at home and many many more!
Kathryn Austerberry, Director of Actiphons has been thanked by Laxey School for her generosity in donating the books.
