Manannan’s cloak has popped its blanket of fog over the south of the island this morning, which has caused a few delays down at Ronaldsway Airport.
The airport has issued a warning that ‘due to the current fog and low cloud at the airport, some flight disruption is expected’.
Both morning flights from Liverpool that were due to land on the island were diverted, while the incoming Bristol flight was cancelled.
London City, London Gatwick and Manchester arrivals have all been delayed.
For fogs sake
The departures board isn’t looking too hot either.
The outbound easyjet flight to Liverpool scheduled for 8:10am has been delayed until 2:10pm.
Meanwhile the London Gatwick flight scheduled for 10:05am has been pushed back until 3:40pm.
Loganair’s Manchester flight hasn’t escaped the legend of the cloak either, it was scheduled to depart our isle at 10:50am, but is now delayed until 12:10pm.
The Birmingham flight scheduled for 1:55pm is now due for take off at 2:30pm.
Although the above flights being delayed is a pain in the neck, be grateful they weren’t cancelled like their Bristol and London Heathrow counterparts.
Fog delays
Everything else for later in the day seems to be running on time. Hope and pray that the fog does one by then.
But if you are stuck there for some time, make use of Island Escapes’ water fountain in the departure lounge – it’s not a bad idea to stay hydrated whilst grumbling about the delays.
