Airport Secures First Level of Carbon Accreditation

Isle of Man Airport has achieved Airport Carbon Accreditation Level 1, marking its first formal step in measuring and understanding its carbon footprint.

The internationally recognised accreditation, governed by Airports Council International, confirms the airport has established a baseline for its emissions as part of a longer‑term programme to reduce its environmental impact.

The work was supported by environmental consultancy Ricardo.

Interim Airport Director Geoff Pugh said the milestone provides “a strong foundation for the work ahead” as the airport continues its sustainability journey.

Ricardo’s Simon Morris said the accreditation demonstrates a clear commitment to reducing the environmental impact of aviation to and from the island.

The airport’s wider sustainability plans and further information on the accreditation scheme are available on its website.
