The Southern Civic Amenity Site Board has signed a new long term lease for its current site from Port St Mary Commissioners.
The new lease will come into effect from April 2026 for a total term of 25 years.
Chair of Southern Civic Amenity Site Board, Mike Norrey said: “On behalf of both the previous and current Board, we are delighted to have reached an agreement to retain the site at its current location on Castletown Road, Port St Mary for a further 25 years.”
Site Lease
Mr Norrey added: “The site is the oldest on the island and has seen some major changes over the recent years to improve its service offering to users.
“Now that a new lease has been secured, further works to improve the site entrance, layout and security are planned to commence in the first quarter of the next municipal year.”
Chair of Port St Mary Commissioners, Mrs Jean Teare said: “It is great news for the South to have a new lease agreement signed to retain the Southern Civic Amenity Site at its current location. The site is very well used and we are looking forward to seeing further improvements in the not too distant future.”
