The Northern Civic Amenity Site will close temporarily later this month to facilitate the official handover to a new operator.
The facility will shut at the end of the working day on Monday March 23.
The move allows the current operators, Ramsey Town Commissioners, to vacate the site before the newly appointed contractor assumes responsibility on Wednesday April 1.
In a statement, the Commissioners confirmed that the temporary closure period will enable essential works to ensure a smooth and safe transition between operators.
“We appreciate the public’s understanding and patience during this time,” a spokesperson said.
As they prepare to step down, the local authority has placed on record its gratitude to those who have managed the service for nearly a decade.
“As we approach the end of our tenure managing the site, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks to the members of the committee and all staff who have worked tirelessly over the past nine years to keep the facility running efficiently and safely,” the statement read.
