Over 1,500 people have signed a petition against the Mooir Vannin Offshore Windfarm.
The petition has been created and shared on the Facebook page ‘No Offshore Turbines 4 Isle of Man’.
The page, which says it is set up to “formally oppose the Ørsted Mooir Vannin Wind Farm” says that most of the island’s politicians have remained “silent on the Mooir Vannin Wind Farm Proposal”.
Due to Tynwald changing its rules on sub judice, members have been restricted from raising parliamentary debates and questions regarding “live” planning applications to avoid prejudicing the decision-making process.
However, there is nothing stopping members commenting on the plans outside of Tynwald.
