Manx runner Sarah Astin has withdrawn from this month’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after failing to recover from an injury picked up earlier in the year.
Astin said she was “gutted” to pull out, explaining that the issue first surfaced in the lead‑up to the Seville Marathon in February and hasn’t fully cleared.
The setback ends her hopes of returning to the Games following her appearance at Birmingham 2022.
She added that the enforced break had at least brought one positive: more time with family and friends, which she said had been “very good for the head”.
