Level Up Club attendees were treated to a moment of inspiration this week when NASA astronaut Nicole Stott shared a personal video message with the club.
Stott, who spent 27 years with NASA and lived aboard the International Space Station, spoke about creativity, curiosity, and courage, themes that mirror the values at the heart of Level Up Club.
“Floating above our beautiful planet, I realised how important it is to make time for creativity, even in the most high-tech, high-pressure environments,” she said.
“Creativity isn’t just about art; it’s about curiosity, perspective, and finding calm in the chaos.”
Power to Create
She closed with a message that resonated deeply: “If there’s one thing I’ve learned from seeing our planet from space, it’s this: we’re all crewmates here on Earth, not passengers. And when we look after each other, we have the power to create a future that’s every bit as beautiful as the world looks from orbit.”
Her message formed a standout moment within Reach for the Stars, held at the Isle of Man Astronomical Society Observatory.
And even with the clouds refusing to shift, the event delivered exactly what people came for, the chance to learn, meet new people, and explore the world around us.
Guiding the group was Howard Parkin MBE of Astromanx, who brought the night sky to life with insights into constellations, our solar system, galaxies and beyond.
He also delivered a specially researched segment for Level Up Club, shining a light on the achievements and impact of women in astronomy.
Level Up Club
Level Up Club is a growing community for women in their 20s and 30s who want to feel inspired, try new things, and meet like-minded people.
The club focuses on creating meaningful, memorable events that blend learning with connection, and Nicole Stott’s message was a perfect reflection of that mission.
Founder Ealish Corlett said: “Our goal is to create events that feel fun and sociable, but also meaningful. We want women to leave with new ideas, new connections, and a little more confidence than they arrived with. Hearing Nicole speak about creativity, curiosity, and supporting one another was incredibly special, and perfectly aligned with why Level Up Club exists.”
Attendees described the evening as one of the club’s most inspiring yet, combining astronomy, storytelling, and community in a thoughtful and uplifting way.
