Eleven-year-old Tommy Bass has secured a second place finish in the European Junior Cycling Tour.
He won today’s stage to move up from third in the overall rankings.
The European Junior Cycling Tour is about as serious as kids cycle racing gets with over 700 entries from 19 different countries.
Tommy won the category 5, under 12 criterium in Assen this morning, and finished 2nd overall all in General Classification.
Every year, riders from all over the world converge on the Dutch town to battle it out over five days of road racing. It’s the pinnacle of junior cycle racing.
Team RL360
This year, three Team RL360 Cycling riders, Daniel Minay, Thomas Hutchinson and Tommy Bass travel to the event with all three riders having enjoyed very successful seasons in various British Cycling championships both on and off-island with Daniel and Tommy recently being crowned Northwest Champions.
Both Minay and Hutchinson have rode well all week in the under 15 category and have been top 15 all week.
