Island residents received valuable advice at the second Isle Be Ready community drop‑in session.
The event, at Arbory Parish Hall, brought together representatives from a wide range of emergency and public services.
Attendees received practical, hands‑on advice about the simple steps every household can take to be better prepared in the event of an emergency, such as what essential items to keep at home, how to stay informed during a disruption, and where to access trusted guidance.
Emergency Planning Officer Jane Kelly said: “We were really pleased to see people take the time to come along and learn more about how they can prepare themselves and their families.
“Building community resilience is a shared effort, and events like this help strengthen our collective ability to respond when something unexpected happens. We’re grateful to all the agencies who took part and to the Arbory community for such a positive response.”

The next Isle Be Ready event will take place at the Roundhouse on April 23 from 3pm until 7pm.
