Isle of Man Creamery has partnered with Okells Brewery to launch a new, limited edition cheese for the festive season.
The collaboration has blended the Creamery’s award-winning Mature Cheddar with Okell’s Smoked Porter to create a rich, creamy cheese, hand-finished in wax.
Okell’s Smoked Porter, brewed for the brewery’s 175th anniversary, has a deep malty character with a gentle hint of smoke. The beer is designed to complement the smooth texture of the cheddar, creating a uniquely Manx pairing.
The cheese was launched at a special event at Okell’s Brewery in Kewaigue this week.
Managing Director of Isle of Man Creamery, Findlay Macleod, said: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with our friends at Okells Brewery to launch a new, limited edition cheese for the festive season.”
Okell’s Head Brewer, Kevin Holmes, added: “The result is a complex, satisfying beer that perfectly complements the smooth, creamy texture of Isle of Man Creamery’s Mature Cheddar.”
Mature Cheddar with Smoked Porter will be available in local stores, via Isle of Man Creamery doorstep delivery, and in Creamery cheese hampers from November 28.
