Western AC distance runner Dawn Atherton smashed her Half Marathon personal best in Manchester at the weekend.
On Sunday (February 15), Dawn finished sixth in the women’s race, out of more than 1,000, at the Media City Half Marathon in a time of 1:23:30.
Dawn took almost two minutes off her previous best in windy conditions. Dawn in fact thinks that her chip time may have been a few seconds faster, so it could be even better.
As it stands, Dawn’s time will move her up from 21st place to 13th on the all-time list of local women for the Half Marathon distance.
