Ramsey’s Swing Bridge has been closed to all vehicle traffic with immediate effect.
The DoI says some damage to the bridge deck has been identified.
The bridge will be closed to vehicles so that a full assessment can be made and repairs arranged.
It said the emergency closure will be in place from today (Wednesday) for up to a week.
The bridge will still be open and available to pedestrian traffic.
