Firefighters attended two separate incidents yesterday morning, responding first to a single‑vehicle road traffic collision in the south of the island.
Two appliances arrived to find a vehicle on its side with one person still inside. Crews stabilised the vehicle and safely extricated the occupant, who was uninjured and handed into the care of the Isle of Man Ambulance Service.
Firefighters remained on scene for around an hour to make the area safe.
Shortly afterwards, two appliances were mobilised to reports of a structure fire in Douglas.
The cause was identified as an electrical appliance malfunction. No firefighting was required, but crews carried out a home fire safety inspection and provided advice to the resident.
