Braddan Commissioners’ Roundhouse is giving away free food to prevent it going to waste.
The Roundhouse opened this year, having originally being due to be open in August 2023.
While its coffee shop is being run by an interim service, it is seeking to keep waste to a minimum.
However, while this is the ambition, a Roundhouse post said this can be “tricky in catering”.
It added: “Therefore, at 8:30pm each evening any left over food that would go in the bin, will be left out for people to take free of charge.
‘Look out for this sign and take what you like. No criteria, no questions. We just don’t like food waste.”
The Roundhouse was built by Braddan Parish Commissioners and cost £10m, £3.4m over budget.
Planning permission is being sought to add a vehicle entrance to the site after a row with the DHSC and Manx Care over access to the Roundhouse.
