The cause of a fire that occurred in the south of the island in the early hours of this morning is believed to have been malicious.
At 1:15am this morning (August 25) crews from Castletown, Rushen and Douglas Stations responded to multiple hay bales and grass on fire in a field in Castletown.
Due to the remote location of the field which was close to Poulsom Park, the officer in charge requested an off road appliance from Rushen Station and the Water Bowser from Douglas Station to assist with firefighting operations.
Crews were in attendance for approximately three hours.
Busy Night
