Christa Cain stormed to victory at the Bideford 10km in North Devon and setting a new course record of 35:07 while wearing the England Masters vest.
Athletes from across the country travelled to the event last weekend, which formed part of the England Age Group Masters Programme, but Cain proved untouchable at the front of the women’s race.
Her winning time not only secured the title but also rewrote the record books.
The result marks a powerful return to form for Cain, who has battled illness and injury through the early part of the year. The run showed she is firmly on the way back to her best.
Cain thanked supporters after the race and shared photos from the event.
