Clarity Sought on Fuel Duty Rates

Treasury Minister Chris Thomas has been asked to clarify whether Isle of Man fuel duty is set locally or linked to the Final Expenditure Revenue Sharing Agreement.

The written question was submitted by Rushen MHK Dr Michelle Haywood.

Dr Haywood has requested details of the island’s fuel duty rate for each of the past five years, along with any proposed future rates.

She has also asked which formal agreement governs the harmonisation of fuel duty with the United Kingdom, and whether that agreement can be published.

The written answer is due to be provided by April 27.
