A group of King William’s College and Buchan School alumni have raised more than £7,000 for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity after completing a 55‑mile walk in memory of their friend, Sami Benbatoul, who died from leukaemia last year.
The friends tackled the Raad ny Foillan over the weekend, finishing the challenge in hot conditions before returning to King William’s College, where they camped overnight and shared breakfast in Barrovian Hall.
Sami attended both KWC and The Buchan, and the school said the fundraiser was a “wonderful tribute” that reflected the strength of the friendships formed during their time there.
The group’s effort has already raised thousands for Clatterbridge, with donations still open for those wishing to support the charity’s work.
