A member of Port St Mary Commissioners, who served on the board for ‘many years’ has retired.
Bernadette Williams has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement by Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer for her contributions – which included being elected as chair on nine occasions.
Current chair of the commissioners Jean Teare said she has given an ‘extraordinary’ amount of commitment to serving the community.
She added: “Her leadership, experience and dedication have made a lasting difference to Port St Mary, and on behalf of the board and staff, we thank her sincerely for her remarkable service and wish her a long, peaceful and happy retirement.”
The local authority says the certificate recognises Mrs Williams’ dedication to public service and her ‘valued contribution’ to Port St Mary.
