Conister Bank has donated a new nine seater Renault Traffic minibus to The Children’s Centre.
It marks the charity’s largest corporate contribution to date and strengthening a partnership focused on delivering practical, life-changing support to young people.
The donation, made possible with the support of Ocean Motor Village, ensures the Centre can continue reaching children and families despite its rural location and limited public transport access.
Conister Support
The need became clear during Conister Bank’s charity week at the Centre, known as The Honey Project, when Head of Sales Andy Bass learned the charity’s existing vehicle was deteriorating and at risk of failure.
Behind the scenes, Andy Bass and Kerry Waddington, Conister’s Head of Marketing and Communications, worked swiftly with Ocean Motor Village to source a solution.
Just weeks later, the Centre’s old vehicle broke down entirely, making the timing of the donation especially significant.
“The Children’s Centre plays a crucial role in the well-being of our island’s young people,” said Andy Bass, Head of Sales at Conister Bank.
“We’re proud to support their work in a way that’s practical, tangible, and makes a real impact day-to-day.”
New Minibus
In 2025 alone, The Children’s Centre delivered more than 2,300 group and one-to-one sessions, offering therapeutic and nature-based support.
The new minibus will enable safe transport to outreach programmes, schools, and Wallaby Farm projects such as the Wild Space.
“This minibus is a lifeline,” said CEO Joff Whitten. “It allows us to be more responsive and have an even greater impact on the lives of young people across our island.”
