The Police received 43 calls related to parking offences between January and March, the Justice Minister has told Tynwald.
In response to a question from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse, Jane Poole-Wilson said the Constabulary does not hold all parking complaint data as most fall under the Department of Infrastructure.
However, she confirmed that 43 calls labelled as “parking offences” were logged by the Emergency Services Joint Control Room (ESJCR) during the three-month period.
Of these, just four resulted in a fixed penalty notice. The remaining 39 were closed with outcomes such as “no crime,” “no deployment required,” or “area search – negative result”.
The Minister added that a further check of the crime recording system showed no additional parking offences, but four vehicles were seized for having out-of-date tax while parked.
“Two owners received a caution and two were reported for summons,” she said.
