Cost of Milk to Rise

Milk prices are to go up later this year, with a new banding system for large regular purchases.

A pint will rise by 6p to 96p, while a litre carton will increase by 10p to £1.60.

The changes were recommended by the Marketing Committee to “secure the future of the Manx dairy industry, ensuring a continuing supply of fresh Manx milk for the Island’s consumers”.

However, milk sold in schools will not be affected until January 1 2027.

For larger containers of 1.75 litres and over, a new banded system will apply based on how much milk a buyer purchases per week from the same seller.

Prices range from £1.43 per litre for those buying smaller volumes down to £1.27 per litre for the highest-volume buyers.
