Plans have been revealed for Douglas Council’s sunken gardens refurbishment scheme which will cost £1.4 million.
The local authority is refurbishing marine gardens four, five and six which will consist of a children’s play area, a skate park and an open space with seating.
Councillor Devon Watson says it’s ‘worth’ investing in the play areas that will be used for years to come alongside extra sea defences which will be put into the sunken gardens.
Half of the money – which will come from a loan – has been allocated for the play area whilst the other £700,000 is for renovations to Marine Garden Five and The Queen’s Promenade Gardens.
He also says the authority can’t see any ‘major complications’ with the plans, but welcome feedback on the designs from ratepayers.
