Douglas Council has unveiled ambitious plans to transform Nobles Park as part of a long-term masterplan now open for public consultation.
The proposals include significant changes to the TT Grandstand area, with the creation of a new year-round civic space adjacent to the iconic structure.
The masterplan, which follows an initial public questionnaire that attracted 355 responses, aims to balance everyday use with major events, environmental sustainability, and accessibility.
Under the proposals, the Grandstand area would receive a public space to improve visitor experience during TT week, with large specimen trees providing shade and “grandeur”.
The plans also include celebrating the TT’s contribution to the park’s cultural identity through interpretation, artwork and creative paving detailing.
The masterplan has been developed in two phases, with Phase 1 including entrance improvements, a new play area, padel courts, a pump track and wildlife gardens.
Phase 2 would see the creation of a central community facility with café and seating terrace.
Initial consultation found 59% of respondents visit daily or weekly, while 88% find it easy to navigate the park.
