A group of ladies in Ramsey has raised an impressive £810 for the Isle of Man Air Ambulance Service through a heart-warming community fundraising event.
The Kerrooglass Craft Group, which meets regularly to create handmade items, built on the experience of its first fundraiser in 2024 to make this year’s event even more successful.
Learning from last year, the group introduced new ideas, including approaching local traders for raffle prize donations.
This proved to be a significant boost to the total raised.

Gill Corlett, a member of the Ramsey-based group, said local businesses responded with remarkable generosity, donating a wide range of prizes that helped raise much of the money.
On the day, visitors were greeted with a lively and welcoming atmosphere, with a cake stall, tombola, and tables filled with handcrafted items made by the ladies themselves.
Creations included charming Christmas mice, decorative beaded stars, and a variety of other festive and carefully made crafts.
Air Ambulance
The funds raised will support the Isle of Man Air Ambulance Service, which provides both urgent and non-urgent medical transfers for patients requiring specialist treatment in the UK.
The service supports patients of all ages, including cardiac patients, children, parents, and newborn babies.
Donations will go towards practitioner training, patient welfare during transfers, and the purchase of essential medical equipment.
Since April 2025, the Air Ambulance has transferred 419 patients using its leased fixed-wing aircraft and HM Coastguard helicopter.
The service operates 24 hours a day, 364 days a year.
