Daily Closures on Queen Street

There will be daily road closures on Queen Street in Castletown until Wednesday (July 24).

A team from the Department of Infrastructure (DoI) will be repairing the road surface in Queen Street.

To facilitate this work the road will be closed daily between 9 and 3.30pm.

There are also minor repair works being done to the bus stop on the Parade whilst traffic there is reduced.

Queen Street Bus Changes

The closure of the street has affected the bus service for the area.

All buses on Services 1, 1h, 2, 11a, 12a and 14 will not serve the bus stops located in Victoria Road, Castletown Square and Farrants Way after the 8:55am Service 11a to Douglas and 8:45am Service 12a to Port Erin and until the 3:45pm Service 12a to Port Erin and 3:35pm Service 1h to Douglas.

During this period buses to and from Douglas, and Port Erin operate between Fayles Corner and the Castle Rushen High School bus turning area via Alexandra Road, the By Pass and Red Gap, departing the School at the time scheduled for Castletown Square.

If notification is received on any day that the works have been completed buses will resume the normal timetabled route as soon as possible.
