Douglas North MHK David Ashford is the new Speaker of the House of Keys.
He replaces Juan Watterson, who was elected as President of Tynwald in July.
Rob Callister (Onchan) nominated Ashford, whom he said he was confident would “uphold both the integrity and sense of duty” the role demands.
Jane Poole-Wilson seconded the nomination.
There were no other nominations.
New Garff MHK Richard Henthorn was elected, unopposed, as Deputy Speaker.
Prior to the elections, MHKs stood in silence in memory of former Douglas North MHK John Wannenburgh, who died in August.
More to follow.
