A report on reforming the care funding system will be presented to the Council of Ministers this month, three months later than originally planned.
Health and Social Care Minister Claire Christian had previously anticipated submitting the report to the Council in December 2025.
However, in a written answer Ms Christian said “the timetable has since been affected by operational pressures and the need to ensure that the new Treasury Minister is fully briefed on the underlying analysis and funding implications”, having taken up the position in late January 2026, given Treasury’s central role in assessing the financial sustainability of any future model”.
Ms Christian confirmed the Department is now presenting to the Council of Ministers in March 2026.
“Subject to Council considering the report, we aim to return to Tynwald with an update this Spring,” she said.
