The company behind the proposed Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm has expressed its disappointment following a formal delay to the start of the project’s statutory examination.
The independent examination of the marine infrastructure consent application, which was referred to a planning panel in November, will now begin in March 2026 instead of January.
A spokesperson for the Orsted project said: “We are obviously disappointed by a further delay to the Marine Infrastructure Consents process and the decision to delay the start of the Examination process until March.”
The spokesperson confirmed the project’s commitment, adding: “However, we remain committed to delivering the Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm and look forward to proceeding without further delay.”
The developer also indicated it is now aligning related consent activities in the UK to maintain “a co-ordinated and efficient approach”.
