The DoI accepted the regenerated Douglas Promenade from contractors in March 2022, but agreed to accept seven outstanding defects a year later after a financial contribution from the builder.
The accepted outstanding defects were to do with the coloured concrete.
The details were confirmed by Minister Tim Crookall in a written Tynwald answer, following a question from John Wannenburg.
In his answer, Mr Crookall said: “Certifying completion confirmed that the contractor had completed the works set out in the scope and corrected notified defects.”
He did however acknowledge ongoing issues with damaged flagstones at pedestrian crossings, noting that specific investigatory work at two crossing points cost about £10,000 and are still being monitored.
Mr Crookall stated: “It should be assumed that these failures were as a result of a construction defect.”
A decision paper on permanent remediation is now under departmental consideration.
