Breakout star shooter Noah Mayne has continued his rise, bagging a pair of gold medals at the Jersey Outdoor Open Meeting.
Taking place last week at Jersey Outdoor Smallbore Rifle Club, the event encompassed the 3P (three position) format, a discipline in which the Manxman has achieved great success.
The 3P competition involves athletes firing at ringed targets from 50m away, from the prone, kneeling and standing positions. As is the case with most shooting contests, the aim is to hit the innermost ring, with points declining for larger areas of the target.
His most recent triumph in the discipline came at the 2026 British Shooting Pathway Open, where he put the domestic rifle scene on notice by taking overall honours ahead of athletes already on the British Olympic Programme.
How it All Unfolded
The firefighter, by his own admission, struggled throughout the first competition on Thursday (October 1), leaving him with “some redeeming to do” as the second of the day’s contests got underway.
But redeem he certainly did, with a strong kneeling and prone shoot setting him up ahead of the challenging standing discipline. The 21-year-old shot a new Qualifying Personal Best to win the at the second time of asking.
On the Sunday (October 4), it was the turn of the pairs competitions, and Mayne joined forces with Libby Hart in the 50m Prone Pairs discipline. The two delivered a strong shoot to take victory, doubling the former’s medal tally for the trip.

After enjoying a successful campaign, Mayne will close out his 2026 season at the British Shooting 3 Position Open at the end of November.
