The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) is to repair a fractured surface water drainage pipe on the main road in Kirk Michael in the vicinity on the entrance to Cannan Court, adjacent to the former “Tack Box”.
The damage to the pipe has led to water seeping into the highway and a surface defect develop.
It is planned to excavate and repair the defective pipe tomorrow (April 4).
Drainage works
While this work is underway there will be temporary traffic lights in operation.
It is hoped that this repair will be completed in a day dependent on the full extent of the issue when the pipe is exposed.
As this work is to be done by the same team that is currently scraping back vegetation from Ballacrye to the Curraghs Wildlife Park that work will be paused and traffic lights in that area stood down whilst the Kirk Michael works are underway.
