A man who admitted driving under the influence of cannabis will argue there are special reasons he should keep his licence.
Owen Robert John Reed, 23, from Douglas, also admitted being found in possession of a small amount of the drug.
Prosecutors said he was stopped on Circular Road just after midnight on March 3 by police who could noticed the smell of cannabis coming from his car.
Blood tests later showed Reed had 5.5micrograms of cannabis per litre of blood; the legal limit is two.
Reed’s advocate Paul Rodgers said that Reed has since qualified for medicinal cannabis and said that losing his licence would impact on his job as a valet and make it very difficult to see his child in the evenings.
He was bailed until October 10 when a date will be set down for future hearing.
