Douglas firefighters were called to a house fire at 6.45am after an e‑scooter ignited inside the property.
The occupants managed to put out the fire before crews arrived, and the cause is now under investigation.
Working smoke alarms alerted the household, allowing everyone to evacuate safely.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has issued fresh e‑bike and e‑scooter safety advice, warning riders not to charge devices in bedrooms or escape routes, avoid overloading sockets, and never tamper with batteries.
People are urged to use approved chargers, follow manufacturer instructions and unplug devices once charging is complete.
