Passengers flying between the Isle of Man and the UK with easyJet could soon be able to stay connected throughout their journey after the airline announced plans to introduce onboard wi-fi for the first time.
The low-cost carrier has revealed a new partnership with Starlink, the satellite internet network operated by SpaceX, which will see high-speed internet rolled out across its Airbus A320 and A321 family aircraft from the first half of 2027. The programme is expected to be completed by early 2028.
Free?
The airline has not mentioned the word “free”, nor has it indicated if it plans to charge for the service. British Airways now offer free wi-fi on their services fitted with Starlink. BA began rolling out Starlink across both its long haul and short haul fleet earlier this year and hope to have 300 aircraft fitted by 2028.

easyJet’s routes link Ronaldsway with London Gatwick, Liverpool, Manchester and seasonal services to Bristol. The airline also announced some extra destinations for TT 2027.
Once installed, customers will be able to stream content, browse the internet, play online games and stay in touch while in the air, using what the airline describes as “ultra high-speed” connectivity.
The technology will also allow passengers to access travel information during their flight, including checking flight status through the easyJet app and website, as well as viewing destination information such as weather forecasts, transport links and tourism details.

With Manx passengers using easyJet for both business and leisure travel, the introduction of onboard connectivity is likely to prove particularly popular for those traveling and wish to remain connected.
“In an increasingly digital world, staying connected matters more than ever to many of our customers, whether that’s holidaymakers looking to unwind with inflight entertainment, or our business customers keeping up to speed with what’s happening on the ground.
“Innovation is in easyJet’s DNA and partnering with SpaceX to bring Starlink’s high-speed internet connectivity onboard for the first time will not only further enhance the experience we provide millions of customers, but means we are offering more of the options both business and leisure travellers want when they choose who they fly with.
“Giving customers the opportunity to get online in the air will mean even greater choice and convenience when you fly with easyJet. Ultimately, it’s yet another way we’re making travel easy.”
Kenton Jarvis, Chief Executive of easyJet
“We’re proud to bring Starlink onboard easyJet and transform the way their customers stay connected throughout their travels. Fast, reliable connectivity from take-off to landing means people can work, stream, or stay in touch without interruption.”
Gwynne Shotwell, President and Chief Operating Officer of SpaceX
The move marks a major shift for easyJet, which has never previously offered in-flight internet access. The airline says the investment forms part of its ongoing efforts to improve the passenger experience for the 100 million people who travel with the carrier annually.
The airline has not yet confirmed whether passengers will be charged for using the service.
