easyJet Unable to Confirm Impact of Flight Cuts on Island

easyJet has been unable to confirm whether routes serving the Isle of Man will be affected by planned reductions to its winter schedule.

The airline was contacted by Manx.News after reports emerged that it intends to cut thousands of flights over the winter months as it responds to rising fuel costs.

In a statement, an easyJet spokesperson said: “Like all airlines, we review our schedule on an ongoing basis and sometimes make some changes. The changes to our winter flying represent a tiny proportion of our flying programme.

“We make any changes in advance and typically choose multi-daily frequency flights so customers can easily move to an alternative flight.”

However, the airline did not answer directly whether any services to or from the Isle of Man would be affected.

National reports suggest around 700,000 seats will be removed from easyJet’s winter capacity, equating to approximately 3,500 flights across the season.
