Emma Smashes £3k Target Ahead of ‘Hot Dog Walk’

A fundraising challenge has surged past its £3,000 target, with Emma Wilson exceeding the milestone ahead of her charity ‘hot dog walk’ this Sunday.

Emma is walking 175,000 steps a week throughout March, around 25,000 steps a day, in memory of Craig Lunt, who died in 2005 from an undiagnosed heart defect.

Funds raised will support Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation, which provides cardiac screening for young people.

Hot Dog Walk

Emma will walk through Onchan dressed as a hot dog will go ahead on tomorrow (March 29), setting off around 1.30pm and passing the Terminus Tavern at roughly 2pm.

She has invited supporters to join her or simply come along for a laugh, warning that the weather “looks shocking”.

Last year, Emma completed the same challenge in memory of her friend Karen, raising £6,000 for Asthma & Cruise Bereavement. She said both Craig and Karen continue to inspire her efforts.
