It is the end of an era for Manx equestrian Yasmin Ingham as she bids farewell to her equine partner of ten years, Rehy DJ.
Rehy DJ, or Piglet as he’s known at home, will now piloted by the current World Number 1 Young Rider Elizabeth Barratt.
Yasmin said: “I am so grateful to Piglet for being my ultimate stalwart and best buddy over the past 10 years.
“We have learnt together, grown together, had some incredible results and memories together and now it’s time for a new chapter to begin for him and Elizabeth and I wish them so much luck.”
Look Back
Over the last decade Yasmin and 16-year-old Piglet have risen through the ranks from Novice level to the most famous three-day-event in the world, Badminton Horse Trials.
The pair won their second Intermediate together back in 2017 at Aske Horse Trials, before claiming fourth place the following year at the Young Rider European Championships in France.
The partnership blossomed over the next few years to cement them as one of the most reliable and consistent pairings on the British circuit.
In the years to come they had very good form at CCI4* level with multiple top ten placings.
Piglet and Ingham finished third place twice at Luhmülen Horse Trials CCI5*L in 2023 and 2024.
The 16-year-old gelding was strongly considered for the 2024 Paris Olympics, although he ultimately acted as a reserve horse rather than part of the competing team.
Looking Ahead
With the 2026 eventing season just around the corner, equestrian fans are set to see the return of one of Yasmin’s most notable rides, Banzai Du Loir.
Banzai is best known from winning the Individual Gold medal with Yasmin at the FEI World Eventing Championships in Pratoni, Italy, in 2022.
As well as numerous top placings at multiple CCI5*L events, and numerous wins at CCI4* level.
Yasmin and Banzai haven’t competed together since 2024, but the pair are entered for the Open Intermediate at Poplar Park on March 7.
