Sixteen-year-old Issy Ennett was part of the Northern England team which came third at the Eventing British Youth Championships.
Partnered by Ballyvadd Sarco, the pair jumped a clear cross country round but had 12 faults in the show jumping phase at their first go at CCI1* level.
The Championships were held over the weekend at Bishop Burton Agricultural College and hosted eight regions from across the United Kingdom.
Issy and Ballyvadd Sarco were selected as part of an eleven person team, including a reserve, that represented the North against the seven other regions.
Upon completion, Issy said: “Not quite the result we were hoping for with a spooky dressage letting us down, but we still finished in the top third of the field and managed to go clear around a tricky 1* cross country track which caused loads of issues!”
She thanked her coaches, team mates, family and hopes to return to the event in 2025.
