A former chief minister and two former ministers have topped the polls in this year’s local authority elections.
Voters in Douglas South, Castletown, Peel, Patrick and Ramsey North Ward went to the polls with all other authorities elected uncontested.
Castletown
Tony Brown topped the polls with the former chief minister returning to local politics with 738 votes.
John Cringle, William Galley, Alan Leonard, Mahendrakumar Patel, Carol Quine and Laurence Watterson also won seats on the board.
Douglas South
David Cretney’s return to his former Douglas South stomping ground has seen him elected to Douglas Council with a stunning 1,096 votes.
Steven Crellin and Karel Ver Elst were also elected to the island’s largest local authority.
Patrick
Gordon Clague, who has been chairman over the last year, topped the poll with 250 votes.
Robert Anderson, Paul Craker, Leo Cussons and Simon Mellor joined him in being elected to the board.
Peel
Former DoI minister Ray Harmer was returned to the Peel board as he received a best in class 792 votes. Katryna Baptist, Frank Crompton, Alistair Cubbon-Wood, Stuart Hardingham, Sharon Lambert and Christine Moughtin were also elected.
Ramsey
Juan McGuinness came out on top in Ramsey’s North Ward with 477 votes. Emma Honey, Pauline Johns-Garrett, Elizabeth Shimmin, Margaret Webb and Wilf Young were also elected.
