New explanatory notes for the Area Plan North and West (APNW) aim to correct recent misunderstandings by the public about proposed changes in the draft plan.
The document has been developed by the Cabinet Office Planning Policy team to help the public better understand figures, calculations and other details in APNW Public Inquiry Papers. The inquiry will be led by an independent Planning Inspector and is scheduled for July 2024.
The document includes additional context on:
- Public consultations by the Cabinet Office
- Development site densities
- Difference between gross site and net developable area
- Potential development sites on the edge of Peel
Since the Draft Plan was published in June 2022, a number of additional, potential development sites for housing and other uses have been submitted by a mixture of developers, landowners and Local Authorities. Proposed changes have been collated and put forward by the Cabinet Office planning policy team.
Anyone with an interest in the Draft Plan is encouraged to attend the inquiry and listen to discussions.
