Bookings for the Christmas lunches at UCM’s Oastan Training Restaurant will open later this month at the restaurant’s annual Christmas Bookings Coffee Morning.
The event will run on October 22 from 8.30am to 10.30am and will give visitors the first opportunity to reserve tables for this year’s festive dining programme while enjoying tea, coffee and festive cake.
The Christmas lunches have become a seasonal fixture at the training restaurant, providing students with hands-on experience in a professional hospitality environment.
Guests attending the coffee morning will be able to find out more about the festive menus, meet members of the hospitality team and secure places for the Christmas lunch services.
UCM says menus will feature locally sourced produce wherever possible, combining Island ingredients with a traditional festive dining experience.
Students will prepare and serve the meals under the supervision of Chef Lecturer Robert Hunter and pastry chef Irene Berry, while front-of-house students will gain experience welcoming and serving guests under the guidance of Tracey Conway.
The festive lunch programme forms part of UCM’s hospitality and catering training, helping students develop practical skills for careers in the industry.
