Albert Johnson is entering into the final stages of running 31 marathons in 31 days across the month of December.
He is running these marathons in Kirk Michael and has carried on running through all the dreadful weather we had earlier this month.
Albert is taking on this challenge to honour the memory of his late friend Graham Brew, and raising money for Autism Initiatives in the process.
Fastest Yet
Manx Athletics David Griffiths went along to Kirk Michael yesterday (December 28) to witness Albert’s fastest run yet.
Albert had already been going for nearly two hours when David got to Kirk Michael, and Albert was running at a pace that would have won many a Marathon around the country.
He clocked an incredible time of 2:46:59 yesterday, less than two minutes outside his official personal best set at Loch Ness in September this year.
He was helped on Sunday by the company of local distance runner Jordan Cain in the first half of his run.
David said: “Albert looked relaxed and strong, and quite honestly it would have been a great performance just for a one-off Marathon, never mind the 28th in 28 days.
“It makes you wonder how good he could be if he trained specifically for a single Marathon sometime in the future.”
