A Freedom of Information request response has revealed that fire call out to schools cost the Department of Education, Sports and Culture (DESC) £19,053.50 last year.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to schools across the Isle of Man 49 times in 2023.
Four of the callouts from January – December 2023 were recorded as false alarms as a result of vaping or smoking.
