Two people have been checked over for minor smoke inhalation after a house fire in Douglas.
Crews were called to Albany Road in Douglas at about 3:15pm.
On arrival they discovered smoke issuing from a first floor window, with crews entering the property and discovering a fire in a first floor bedroom which they quickly extinguished.
Paramedics carried out precautionary checks on two occupants of the house for minor smoke inhalation.
The Fire Service said: “Due to the early warning provided by the working smoke alarms, the occupants were able to evacuate the property before the fire developed and fire damage was confined to a small area of the bedroom.
“An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.”
