Fire Chief Mark Christian has welcomed the island’s newest retained firefighters to the service.
Douglas Fire Station hosted friends and family of the new recruits to celebrate completion of their initial training course.
Following a certificate presentation, Cameron Brown, Alan Corlett, Caly Glassey, Ryan Pope and Nathan Wadsworth were given a chance to demonstrate their skills.
The Fire Service said: “Covering water delivery, ladder practices and casualty rescue in today’s sunshine they displayed skills they have developed over the past months. They can now proudly begin their career in keeping our community safe.
“Firefighter Ryan Pope was awarded for outstanding achievement, displaying individual ability and support for those around him. Please join us in welcoming them to the service”
