First Squad Announced for 2027 Island Games

Isle of Man Tennis has become the first sport to formally announce it’s team for the 2027 Island Games, set to take place in the Faroe Islands.

An eight-strong contingent will make the trip to the Danish-owned archipelago, split across both men’s and women’s events, and will be spearheaded by Team Manager Hannah Snidal.

The women’s team consists of the aforementioned Snidal, who will line up alongside Charlotte Clarke, Karen Faragher and Sarah Long

On the Men’s side, the travelling squad will be made up of Orry Farnworth, Sean Drewry Nerijus Gricevicius and Will Hart.

It’s the first time since the Guernsey games in 2023 that tennis has been included, having been ditched from the programme for Orkney in 2025.

In a statement made alongside the announcement, the Isle of Man Lawn Tennis Association said: “A huge congratulations to all eight players on their selection!

“Representing the Isle of Man at the Island Games is a fantastic opportunity, and we look forward to following their preparations as they build towards Faroe Islands 2027.”

Fundraising efforts will now commence in Ernest, with the team saying they welcome any support from local businesses and the wider tennis community.
