The Isle of Man Constabulary Roads Policing Unit has arrested five drug drivers and riders in the past 48 hours.
The unit says that, ‘No sooner had we delivered an update following another drug driving arrest last night, we have another one this morning!’
This mornings culprit was a person who was driving up onto the Mountain Road for a drive when they were stopped by the police.
Drug drivers
In the past 48 hours, five people have been arrested by just the Roads Policing Unit, and there’s been others island-wide for drink driving too.
In a statement to Manx.News, the force said: “Sadly we are still seeing instances of officers arresting for drink and drug driving.
“It is just not worth it especially as some people will lose their livelihoods as well as their licence. It is worth remembering that a disqualification in the Isle of Man is also a disqualification in the UK with the reciprocal agreement that is in place.
“This is another example of knowing your limits as the dangers are somebody getting hurt increase with intoxication, be this from drink or drug use”.
The Constabulary reiterates its message: Don’t make a bad choice. Make the right choice.
